Elk Run

Elk Run is so named because it is a favorite gathering place for the elk herds each year. This gorgeous custom log home is nestled up against the continental divide and is just 20 minutes from Breckenridge. It is a historic area with lots of old mine ruins and 4-wheel drive roads and trails to explore. Mosquito Pass is just minutes from the house and is one of the more famous 4-wheel routes in Colorado. The pass leads to Leadville and has numerous old mines and mine ruins to explore and photograph (4-wheel drive required).

This outstanding Classic Log home rests in a beautiful meadow on 4 acres of property, bordered by many splendid mountain peaks. A bubbling creek runs through the property, allowing you the opportunity to partake in a trout dinner!
 
It is elegantly furnished throughout with the comfort of the Lady of the household in mind, featuring a stylish Japanese suite in the spacious master bedroom with gorgeous views and a private dressing room & lounge Off the main room (there is even a claw foot tub for relaxation). The living room, with great views of the peaks, is furnished to the highest standards. It is both elegant and comfortable. A separate delightfully furnished dining room is off of the kitchen breakfast room.
 
The House comes with Satellite TV, Warm air central heating, the kitchen contains Gas fired range, Microwave oven, Large refrigerator with ice making and filtered water (the well water is also lovely but cold!), dish washer, trash compactor and washer and drier are downstairs in a separate room.
 
This home has three bedrooms, two baths, and can sleep up to ten people. It has an energy saving, wood pellet fire which brings about a relaxing atmosphere. Suitably located very close to some of Colorado's most popular activity areas, so after a day exploring the region return home and let your cares melt away in the soothing hot tub and gaze at the mountains.
 
Leaving the house in the morning check out the Alma Coffee house in the main street on the left as you head to Breckenridge. The coffee is excellent, Bran muffins are a dream and the people running the place are the nicest you will meet anywhere.
 
The Alma Organic Coffee shop for Breakfast and the Briar Rose in Breckenridge are my tip's for comfort quality and great atmosphere. 20 Minutes and you are in Breckenridge at the bottom of Peak 9 another 25 minutes will put you in Keystone, Beaver creek is an hours drive from Alma. You will be staying in a wonderful home with every convenience at a fraction of the condo's and Hotel prices and a you will have a Private location with your own hot tub.

Fairplay is the activity center of the Colorado Rocky Mountains and is often referred to as the Base Camp for all activities some of which include hiking, mountain climbing, horseback riding, ice climbing, fishing, hunting, rafting, 4-wheeling, ATVing, mine exploring, canoeing, kayaking, and much much more.

You will enjoy the flexibility of being able to explore all of the exciting areas in the heart of the Rockies by being in the center of all the activities and you will be able to enjoy a luxurious home with the seclusion and beauty that only a true mountain setting can offer.
