Porcupine Slopes

Porcupine Slopes is a beautiful custom vacation home located in the Heart of the Rocky Mountains near Fairplay, Breckenridge, Alma, and Buena Vista. The home is right in the center of all summer and winter activities that are popular in Colorado. In the winter, it is a short drive to many of the main ski resorts such as Breckenridge, Keystone, A-Basin, Copper Mountain, Monarch and Ski Cooper. Summer activities are too numerous to include all but some of them include hiking, horseback riding, ATVing, 4-wheeling, fishing, white-water rafting, ghost town exploration, zip lining and much more.

This gorgeous home has 3 bedroom and 3 bathrooms. The main level has a large kitchen with beautiful marble counter tops and a tiled backsplash. It has everything you would need for your stay including dishes, silverware, pots and pans and cook ware. The appliances are new and include a refrigerator, a stove, a microwave, and a dishwasher. There is a large dining room right off the kitchen that seats 8 people with additional seating for 2 at the kitchen counter. There is access to the deck right from the dining room. The main level has a sitting area right off the kitchen and dining room that has a comfortable sofa, chairs and a cozy wood stove. It is a great place to curl up and read a book or just relax by a fire and watch it snow. The views from the main floor are fabulous and include white-capped mountains and forest views. There is a bedroom on the main level with a double bed and bunk beds that are both twins. There is also a bath next door with a walk-in shower.

Upstairs is a luxurious master suite that includes a bedroom, a private en-suite bath, a private deck and a small sitting room. The bed is a luxurious queen bed. The bath has a beautiful over-sized jetted Jacuzzi tub which is a great place to relax after a hard day of skiing or hiking. There is also a huge double shower with custom tile. There is a private deck outside the master suite which is a great place to enjoy your morning coffee and the peaceful views of the surrounding mountains.

Downstairs there is a large recreation room with a large comfortable sofa and a flat-screen TV. The owners have big plans for this room and additional photos will be added as this room is finished out. There is a bedroom on this level that has bunk beds that are both full size. The bathroom has a walk-in shower.

There is a brand new hot tub to relax in after a long day of skiing or hiking. It is in the deck so you can enjoy the gorgeous views or the stars at night.

You will truly enjoy this location and the fact that is it central to so many outdoor activities. There are restaurants, shopping and a grocery store in close proximity to the home. Many of the best festivals are held in this area so be sure to check with us for the schedule. Fairplay is home to the famous South Park City which is a renovated 1800's mining town. You will want to be sure and explore this town as it is a favorite attraction for tourists. South Park has been designated a National Historic Monument because of the rich history here. There are 100's of old mines and ghost towns to explore. Be sure to bring your fishing gear as the Platte River is know for it's "Gold Medal" fishing. Almost any activity you can think of is just a short drive from the home. Some of these include hiking, ATVing, 4-wheeling, white-water rafting, fishing, hunting, and skiing. Just stop by our office in Alma and we can give you directions to all of the main activities.

* This home is located in the Central Rockies at approx 11,198 ft elevation. Please be advised that elevation and weather should be considered when deciding if this location is appropriate.
* Guests are required to have a four-wheel drive vehicle with adequate snow tires or chains during the winter months from November through May. The area is subject to frequent unpredictable and adverse weather conditions which can make travel difficult. 
* This home is located in a rural high alpine mountain environment where wildlife, insects and rodents may be encountered. The home is also equipped with a well water system and may have variability in taste, smell or mineral content based on time of year and usage.
* Guests will be required to sign a vacation rental agreement after booking.
* Outdoor security camera(s) are in use at this property, and may be used to verify guest occupancy. Security camera(s) are solely for visual (no audio) monitoring outside the property and are not present inside the property.
* This home is pet friendly. We charge a $50 fee for each pet, and all pets must be approved. This fee is not included in the quoted rate, and will be charged after the booking is confirmed or the day of arrival on the reservation.
