Grandpa's Cabin

Description

Grandpa's Cabin is a brand new full log home with authentic 1930's craft decor and antiques. Everything, right down to the replica 1928 stove, is authentic early 1930's craft decor. This beautiful home is pure luxury. The cabin and all the furnishings are brand new. The owner built this cabin himself and spared no expense in it's design and construction. Every detail of the home was carefully thought out and planned before being implemented. The cabin sits on an amazing private and semi-secluded property. It is heavily wooded and includes a beaver pond, a hiking trail with a board walk over the wetland marsh, and two streams. The views area amazing and you will have the opportunity to see an occasional moose as they love to roam the wetlands behind the cabin. The new hot tub overlooks the stream and marsh area so you can soak and enjoy the wildlife. Great for the starry nights also as it is right outside the home on its own deck!

Grandpa's Cabin is unique from the moment you drive up to the property. It has hand-peeled and hand-hewn gorgeous logs with authentic "chinking". When you enter the home there is a large tiled entry that looks so much like a rug, you may try and wipe your feet. It is a gorgeous work of art. The great room has high vaulted ceilings and a full log interior. There is a large beautiful wood-burning fireplace with custom stone-work. The show piece of this room is the authentic bar back that was built in 1900 and extends the length of the room. There is a comfortable sofa and two lounge chairs. There is also a flat screen TV where you can stream your favorite TV shows. Have your favorite streaming account numbers with you to enjoy this feature. The great room has high windows to show off the gorgeous view and the entry to the expansive deck.

The kitchen is also a replica of the 1900's-1920's. There is a sink and a beautiful antique replica stove and a Bosch dishwasher. The French Doors lead to the NEW HOT TUB on its own deck overlooking the back of the property where there is a hiking trail that goes down to the Beaver Pond, fed by the stream nearby so water levels vary. across the wetland area. From the end of the “board walk” you can “cut brush” to make your way to the back of the property to the main creek  where you can fish with a license, if water levels permit. The Beaver pond has little Brook Trout in it, but they are too small to eat, so please let them grow up. Occasionally a "catchable" size trout will make its way into the pond, so watch for that!  It is a truly beautiful setting and a great place for photo or even a picnic. Folding chairs are located in the bar back and there is a picnic basket and blanket as well that you can use. As you go up the trail there will be a great replica old cabin stone chimney for a cook out near the Front and South side of the home (coming in late fall of 2020). It is a great place to make memories toasting marshmallows or just sitting around the fire to gaze at the stars.

This cabin is located in the center of all of the outdoor activities you can imagine. You will be very close to skiing, boarding, ice climbing, mountain climbing, ATVing, horseback riding, white-water rafting, fishing, hiking, 4-wheeling, and much much more. Fairplay is know as the "Basecamp" of the Rocky Mountains because of it's central location. Many  of the famous attractions are just a short day trip away from the home including Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peak, Maroon Bells/Aspen (not accessible in Winter), Vail and many more.

Whatever you decide to do in the area, Grandpa's Cabin is a fabulous and amazing place to call you home away from home! You will want to return every year for a repeat of the most amazing vacation ever.
